1st-Mile Institute
1st-Mile Institute, active since being established in 2006, has been reorganized in 2013 as a fiscally sponsored program of the New Mexico Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.   1st-Mile Institute now stewards two primary programs:

  New Mexico "Broadband for All" (NM-BBFA)    

1st-Mile Institute's NM BBFA program has been established to conduct broadband networked society research, education and demonstration projects, with a dedicated focus on economic quality-of-life enhancing issues and initiatives for the state, the communities and the people of New Mexico.

 Scientists/Artists Research Collaborations (SARC)

1st-Mile Institute's SARC program has been established to creatively address and work on some of society's most difficult "Grand Challenge" issues, with an intent to further highest level achievements in the arts and in the sciences, while providing grounded educational and community benefits.
